Onsite Recreation

With nearly 6,000 private acres adjacent to the colossal 130,000 acre Eagles Nest Wilderness Area with its trailheads, mountain streams and lakes, owners enjoy boundless recreational opportunities through the winter and summer limited only by their energy and imagination.

Fly-Fishing

Enjoy your day on the Gold Medal Blue River making that perfect cast to reel in trophy brown trout or rainbows. Just minutes from the Ranch Headquarters, we offer access to a stretch of river sure to impress. With world class fishing guides on-staff, you will be sure to learn what fly to choose or become the angler you've always dreamed of becoming. If flat water is your preference, we have 22 mountain ponds stocked with brook, rainbow and brown trout. Bring the kids to enjoy a day of fishing with worms like your Grandpa did on our 2-acre kid's Pond

Horseback Riding & Equestrian Barn

Sit back and enjoy the ride on one of our guided trail rides. There is no better way to see the back country than in the saddle, get close to grazing elk and deer throughout the natural meadows and aspen groves. If you are new to equestrian activities or just want to increase your riding ability we have lessons available. Shadow Creek Ranch is housed with an indoor and outdoor riding arena plus enclosed stables.

Hiking and Biking

With over 25 miles of trails, Shadow Creek Ranch is a hiking and biking paradise with breathtaking views in all directions. There are literally hundreds of trails miles available next door in Eagle’s Nest Wilderness, Sheep Horn Creek and Elliots Ridge.

ATV Outings

Grab the keys and go! View the ranch in style in a side-by-side Polaris Ranger crew. Our side-by-sides fit 6 and is the method of transportation around the trails. Whether you are on your way to the ponds for a fishing trip or just out for a day cruise with your family and friends this is an enjoyable way to see the Ranch.

Winter Activities

During the winter months, we maintain 16 miles of groomed trails for guided or unguided snowmobile tours, cross country skiing and sleigh rides. If you would rather sit in the comfort of a warm cab, we recommend scheduling a snow cat tour. Once you are at Base Camp, you can pick your sled of choice and hit the groomed sledding hill, proven to be fun for the whole family or if you just want the sound of snow under your feet, you can put on a pair of snowshoes and make your own tracks through the meadows.

Sportsman's Club

Enhance your skills or take part in the thrill of a hunting experience in your own backyard at the Sportsman's Club. Outfitted with state of the art voice activated trap and skeet machines you can effortlessly hone your reaction time with clay targets. If a bow is your weapon of choice, articulate your accuracy by practicing on our 3D walk-about archery field. Shooting from different elevations and distances is sure to simulate a real-life opportunity. The Shadow Creek Ranch Sportsman's Club also offers a full pistol range filled with military-grade collapsible metal targets and a long-distance rifle range allowing for shots at 100 and 200 yards – and for the marksman out there, a 300 yard gong.
